How we meet each moment determines our well-being. But when we are caught in judging, comparing, or fixing, our worldview contracts and we have fewer options for responding to the present moment. Developing awareness of when we are caught in judging, comparing, or fixing frees us from our compulsive behaviors, which cause us suffering, and retrains our nervous system.

Date of talk: October 18, 2009
Length: 55 minutes

Home Practice:

Notice what is true.
Connect to your felt sense of judging or comparing or trying to fix.
Sustain your attention on this.
Fully receive it.
Continue to explore and investigate what these mind states feel like and how they feel in the body.
Do this with equanimity.
Always support your exploration and endeavor with loving kindness and compassion.
