Allow Happiness to Be Your Teacher Week  50

Moments of wholesome happiness create the karmic seeds that will affect future moments and bring even more happiness into your life. By awakening to happiness you also awaken to the truth of suffering. Happiness also brings the motivation to be kind and compassionate. The Buddha said that someone who is happy would never hurt another.

Dancing with Life, Chapter 22, pp. 265-266

For your reflection: Begin to place more attention on those times when you’re happy, and deliberately pay less attention to those times when you’re discontent. Notice if you’re more compassionate toward others when you’re happy and if you’re heart is more open such that you see more clearly what is suffering and what is not.
